Terms & conditions
Last updated: 27 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Notary Public Hub website and related online tools (the “Platform”). Please read them carefully before submitting a request, uploading documents, or booking an appointment.
1. Platform only — not a notary public service
Notary Public Hub is an online platform that helps you prepare information, upload documents, request quotes, and book appointments with independent notary public providers. The Platform does not itself act as a notary public, does not perform notarial acts, and does not provide legal advice. Notarial services (if any) are provided solely by the appointed notary public provider under their own professional obligations and engagement terms.
2. Service providers
Notary Public services made available through this Platform are provided by independent notary public providers, including Alton Legal (https://alton.legal) and such other providers as may be engaged from time to time. Your contractual relationship for notarial work is with the relevant provider, not with the Platform operator, except to the extent the Platform operator supplies the software and hosting for submissions and appointments.
3. What you can do on the Platform
Subject to these terms, you may use the Platform to: • ask general questions about process and fees; • start or submit an online request; • upload supporting documents; • view status of your requests; and • book, change or cancel appointments where that feature is offered. Use of the chat or FAQ tools is for information only and does not create a retainer or guarantee that a notary will accept your matter.
4. Your responsibilities
You must provide accurate and complete information, and only upload documents you are lawfully entitled to share. You are responsible for checking that the service type, destination country, and document details are correct before submission. You must not misuse the Platform (including attempting to access other users’ data, interfering with security, or uploading unlawful or harmful content).
5. Quotes, fees and online discount
Fee indications on the Platform are guides based on Society of Notaries NSW recommended rates unless stated otherwise. Disbursements and third-party fees are usually extra. Any online submit discount is subject to the conditions published on the Platform (see the “* conditions apply” note in the footer area). Final fees are confirmed by the notary public provider. Payment arrangements, invoices and refunds (if any) are handled under that provider’s terms.
6. Appointments
Appointment slots shown on the Platform are offers to book time with a provider. Confirmation may depend on availability, identity checks, and the provider’s acceptance of your matter. The Platform is not responsible if a provider reschedules, declines, or cannot complete a notarial act.
7. No guarantee of outcome
Overseas authorities, embassies, DFAT, and other institutions set their own requirements. Neither the Platform nor a notary public provider can guarantee that a notarised, authenticated or apostilled document will be accepted by a third party.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law), the Platform operator is not liable for notarial acts, advice, or omissions of independent providers, or for losses arising from your reliance on general information on the Platform. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
9. Privacy
How we handle personal information is described in our Privacy policy. By using the Platform you acknowledge that your details and documents may be shared with the notary public provider handling your matter so they can deliver the service.
10. Accounts and linked websites
If you create an account or sign in on this Platform (including via email or Google), your account identity may be shared with lawplexity.ai and other websites operated by or associated with the Lawplexity platform. Using the same email or sign-in method on those sites may link to the same user profile and authentication record, so you do not need a separate password for each property. Your requests, uploads, appointments, and activity on Notary Public Hub remain subject to these terms and our Privacy policy. Other Lawplexity sites have their own terms and privacy notices.
11. Changes and contact
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version on this page. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Questions about the Platform: [email protected]. Questions about a notarial engagement should be directed to the relevant provider (for Alton Legal, see https://alton.legal).
